Antique Longcase / Grandfather Clocks

Dials of Lymington have an extensive range of antique longcase clocks in the Lymington showroom. All antique longcase clocks come with an eighteen month guarantee and can ne delivered worldwide.

Longcase clocks or Grandfather clocks are tall, freestanding pendulum clocks that are driven by weights. The English clock maker William Clement has been credited with designing the original longcase clock in 1670 and due to their superior accuracy they were the most accurate form of timekeeping until the early 20th century. Longcase clocks are typically 1.8–2.4 metres tall and the cases can feature elaborate ornamentation.
